Couldn't help making a mess with so much goodness
I'm a Brazilian who grew up in a family with wonderful, non-professional cooks (except my own mom, who makes only two or three good dishes).

Because of my city's exceptional cultural diversity, I not only got used to eating all of my country's delicious dishes, but also others influenced by the Italian, Portuguese, French, Middle Eastern, African and Japanese cultures.

I love to try new flavors and tend towards a healthy and wholesome diet, even though I don't have any guilt in indulging in decadent desserts and other treats frequently. I ate meat most of my life, but since March/2011 I have not eaten any except fish, and I like it this way. This doesn't mean that I will completely rule out eating a juicy hamburger if I am ever craving it. I guess the keywords to my approach are moderation and balance.

I am glad to be living in New York, where I can find ingredients from all parts of the world - and thus travel around the globe without leaving my kitchen.
